The second wave of the coronavirus pandemic has really shaken the foundations of the country. According to some reports, the number of people dying is much higher than what is being announced by the government.
In Karnataka too, coronavirus cases have risen significantly and a lockdown has been imposed since this Monday. On 26th January 2021, 29,744 people tested positive and 201 people died. After Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka recorded the highest number of positive cases in the country. While things may look gloomy at the moment, there is hope just around the corner.
From May 1, every citizen between the age of 18-45 will be eligible to take the vaccine. And Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa recently announced that this vaccine will be given free of cost in the state. It’s a welcome move that will certainly strengthen the fight against Covid-19.
